About Me:
I live in London and work for my own computer science company! I also love rowing on the weekends, Taylor Swift, and playing puzzle games.

When I’m not working, I love reading books and listening to music. I really enjoy stories — whether that’s in novels, films, or songs. I think stories help us understand people and the world better.
I also enjoy learning random new things just for fun. Sometimes I’ll watch videos about space, psychology, or how something is made. I’m a very curious person!
I like going for walks, especially with my dog, Coco, when I need to think clearly. Being outside helps me come up with new ideas.
I also enjoy creative projects, organising things, and trying to improve myself bit by bit. I believe small daily improvements can lead to big changes.

How does my work involve computers?:
Computers help me handle lots of information very quickly.
For example, I:
-
Write code (special instructions) to collect information from different places.
-
Teach computers to spot patterns in text, like whether something sounds positive or negative.
-
Build systems that can give alerts if something unusual happens.
Without computers, it would take years to do what I do in one day!

My Work:
I build smart computer systems that use maths and data to understand dangerous events around the world.

I work as a Founding Engineer at a technology company. That means I was one of the first people helping to build it. I help design and create the main computer systems the company runs on.
My job is a bit like building the brain of a very smart machine. I create “data pipelines,” which are systems that collect information from different places and organise it so it makes sense. Imagine lots of messy puzzle pieces — my job is to sort them so we can see the full picture.
I also build “machine learning models.” These are computer programs that can learn patterns from information. For example, if something unusual starts happening in a certain place, the system can spot it quickly and send an alert.
I work with maps, written text, numbers, and live information coming in from around the world. Every day is different. Sometimes I’m solving tricky problems, sometimes I’m improving the system to make it faster, and sometimes I’m testing new ideas.
What I love most is that I get to turn maths and science into real tools that help people make better decisions.

My Typical Day:
I wake up, have breakfast (cereal, usually), and head to work. Since I just need my laptop mostly, sometimes I work from home too! I spend most of my day coding, solving problems, and working with my team. Sometimes I have meetings, and sometimes I test new ideas. I’m usually done working by 6-7pm.

In the morning, I usually check that all our systems are running properly. Then I work on building new features or improving our models.
Some days I’m writing code. Some days I’m testing ideas. Some days I’m looking at maps and data to understand patterns.
I also spend time talking to my team about problems and brainstorming solutions. Engineering is very creative — we are always building and improving things.

What I'd do with the prize money:
If I won the £500, I’d use it to run a “Build Your Own Brainy Bot” workshop for students!
We’d create mini “smart systems” together — like teaching a computer to predict the weather, spot positive and negative words in text, or even guess what kind of music someone might like.
I’d also create colourful, easy-to-follow guides and short fun videos so students could keep building their own projects at home. The goal would be to show that AI isn’t magic — it’s something you can understand, control, and create yourself.

Were you ever in trouble at school?
Sometimes- usually for talking to my friends during class hours
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
I would probably be a researcher or a teacher. I really enjoy learning new things and explaining them to others.
